Key for Healthier Hair-Remedies for Split Ends

Split ends are one of the top issues women face while they’re growing their hair. It feels like you can nurture, moisturize, and protect your hair in every way possible, yet when you look closely enough in the mirror those pesky split ends are still there. It’s enough to make you want to rip your hair out and just give up on your journey. However, ladies don’t fear. I have an arsenal of tips that will help you keep the upper hand in your battle with split ends.

Split ends occur when the cuticle, which is the outermost layer of your hair, becomes damaged. When the cuticle is damaged, its response is to crack, or open itself. A HUGE no, no. In order to keep our hair healthy and beautiful, we want to eliminate any openings that can expose the hair shaft. Majority of the things that can cause split ends, are actually a part of our daily routines. Styling your hair using heat tools, shampooing your hair every day, not carefully detangling your hair before brushing it, and using products that contain harmful chemicals are some of the leading causes of damaged ends. These daily routines dry out your hair, which is the main factor to your ends splitting. The easiest ways to check for split ends, are to hold up the very end of your hair closely to your face and see if it has two ends, or braid your hair, and see how thin the end of the braid is. If you did the split ends test while reading this article and discovered you have split ends, never fear; here are some tips that will help you tackle those pesky ends.
