Curl Tips For This Winter Season

Curl Tips For This Winter Season

Get control over the dryness, damage, and frizz of winter. We’ve gathered smart strategies for taking care of curly hair during the cold months.

Reduce or Better Quit Your Shampoo

When washing your hair, avoid shampooing too often, or at all. Too much shampoo can be drying because it cleans away your natural oils before they can reach the lengths and ends of your hair to moisturize them.

If your scalp produces too much oil and you must use shampoo, concentrate the suds at your scalp to wash away the oil. Leave your ends alone to keep natural moisture in the hair shaft and help it stay healthier.

A healthier alternative to shampoo for scalps with normal to low production of oil is the Hair Cleanser, it's aminoacid-based cleansing system gently and deeply cleans while strengthening the natural keratin of your hair, providing definition to your waves or curls.

Apply on the scalp, massaging it thoroughly and proceed with the length and ends. Leave-on for for the rest of the shower and then rinse.

Ensure your Mane Great Condition

If shampoo is what you use, after rinsing out your shampoo, prepare hair to get the most from your conditioner. Remove the excess of water and apply conditioner in the ends. Leave-on for a minute before rinsing out.

If using the Hair Cleanser, you will not need a conditioner. You hair will already be moisturized and ready to style.

Style Like a Pro

When towel drying your hair, avoid the temptation to rub your hair roughly in all different directions. The cuticle of your hair shaft lies downwards creating a smooth texture. These cuticles rise slightly when your hair is wet. If you use a towel to dry hair in all directions, you’ll push these cuticles in different directions, causing frizz, breakage and damage.

After towel drying, while your hair is still damp, apply the Styling Cream, to help you style while providing extra conditioning and hydration. Work it through your hair evenly combing this with your fingers. Tilt your head towards one side and then to the other, allowing your hair to fall naturally. Use a gentle squeezing motion. Perfect any rebel curl on the top and air dry. For fast dry use a blow dryer with an air diffuser, this will keep your curls in place, avoiding frizz and helping you reach a desired volume.
